Dragons who do not fly.
A dragon princess whose plans go awry.
And a boy on a quest to find out why.
* * *
A timely, engaging story of justice, fairness, friendship, and—most of all–never giving up! For ages 10 and older.
Who’s in charge in Almira, in the magical land of Deweydaire where dragons rule over humans? Surely not those wacky dragon doctors, Samson and Fitzhugh, or the ailing dragon Queen Esmerelda! If only that boy–what’s his name? Peter Porter! If only he could find Princess Meredith and bring her home! But she’s got her own problems. She’s fighting in a war with her rebel dragons against her uncle, King Harold, seeking justice for oppressed human farmers who’ve been raising crops to feed these (vegetarian) dragons. Things go from bad to worse when her tyrannical cousin, Prince Rupert, takes the throne. Somehow, with the help of friends both human and dragon, she must defeat the power of illegal magic and find her way back to Almira–hopefully in time to save the queen!
